Uruguay´s national elections are 25 days away. The country will elect its members of Congress (2025 – 2030) in the Senate and the House of Representatives on the first round on Sunday, October 27th.
The country´s political history and current polls predict a second round called ´ballotage´ to take place on Sunday, November 24th to definitely elect the next President and Vice President (2025 – 2030) to be inaugurated on the national holiday Inauguration Day on Saturday, March 1st, 2025.
Two referendums will take place during the first round. One on Social Security reform and another one aimed at legalizing the conduction of 24 hour search warrants which are currently limited to take place during daytime.
Weekly updates will be provided towards the upcoming elections and they will continue as the President-elect fully announces their high-ranking officials and overall plans for the next 5 years.
