Multicolor Coalition

It was founded in 1836, it is Uruguay´s and South America´s oldest political party (just 8 years younger than the Democratic Party in the United States) and it is considered one of the country´s traditional political parties alongside the Colorado Party. Our second President (1835 – 1838), Manuel Oribe, was the founder of that party.
The party has mostly been on the opposition for most of the country´s history with 35 years in power in total. It has reached the Presidency on two occasions after the end of the last military dictatorship (1973 – 1985).
The first administration since then took place on 1990 – 1995 with the inauguration of Luis Alberto Lacalle, the father of the current President. His son took office for the 2020 – 2025 administration days before the COVID pandemic made its way to Uruguay which set the tone for the party´s political future.
It has its voter base in the Uruguayan Countryside and the rural sector. Which makes it a runner-upper in most elections given that Montevideo has 60% of the metro population where the Broad Front has its biggest voter base.
It has conservative stance on economics, crime, private property, firearms, geopolitics, labor, parental custody, adoption, the military, rental agreements and vagrancy.
It has a natural federalist position given its inception and voter base. Its youth wing has pushed it to the center on abortion, euthanasia, the age of criminal responsibility, same-sex marriage, cannabis, LGBT rights, the environment, animals, .
It shares common ground with the opposition with the support of most of Uruguay on banking law,
